Knit-Pick

The holidays have just started, you feel like you can do anything you want. A never-ending universe of possibilities! What better thing to do than sit in your cozy living room and go knitting!

Knit-Pick is a little game about knitting a scarf out of loops. You can use multiple types of yarn where each yarn has some unique effect and possible synergies. These allow you to knit the best combination of loops to get the highest score. Some yarns may have side effects, where you need to balance the risk of your scarf getting torn and having those extra sweet XP points. With this XP you unlock new types of yarn and needles between runs so the game can loop around while still being fun to play as new possibilities emerge. For every row you knit, you get a chance to buy extra yarn from the shop to replenish your supplies. This introduces a level of randomness to the game, as you need to change your build fairly frequently. 

This is our submission for the GMTK Game Jam 2025. It’s our second time participating, and we're already excited for the next one. We’d love to hear what you think of our game!

Few additional instructions omitted from tutorial: click on the scarf after finishing a row to go to shop, use backspace to undo loop placement and escape to generally stop doing what you're doing :)
